Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt

What is Six Sigma?

Six Sigma is a well-organized data-driven methodology for reducing variation in any process – from manufacturing to service and thereby reducing defects. The goal is to accomplish near perfection (3.4 defects per million opportunities). Process improvement and variation reduction are achieved through the application of either DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) or DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) methodologies.

What is Lean?

The application of Lean focuses on speed, efficiency, and waste elimination from the process.

When Six Sigma is used in concert with Lean, it can deliver breakthrough improvement that can significantly improve an organization’s performance and thereby improve organizational parameters.

Green Belt

Green Belts are the key players in the execution of Six Sigma improvement projects. Learning and knowledge empower Green Belts to serve as high-performing team members on Black Belt project teams as well as valued members on a project that does not require the Black Belt level of analysis. Six Sigma Green Belt applicants receive an introduction to the tools and methods that are essential for participation in problem-solving and DMAIC / DMADV improvement projects

Responsibility of Green Belt

The Green Belt has two main tasks: First, to support effectively in the deployment of Six Sigma techniques, and second, to lead small improvement projects within their particular areas. They are practitioners that spend approximately 20% to 25% of their time on Six Sigma projects of their own or in support of Black Belt projects

What’s in it for me?

1) You will acquire knowledge on how to use Six Sigma problem-solving methods and statistical tools to contribute to the organization growth and development

2) Knowledge of the Six Sigma Green Belt enables you to understand real-world business problems, sharpens your business acumen & commitment to improve processes and thus giving you a competitive advantage over the others

Who should attend?

The Six Sigma program is designed for professionals and students who want to develop the ability to lead process improvement initiatives. Six Sigma tools and process is widely used in all business processes. Six Sigma is applicable in all industries and all functional areas.
